Events under the patronage of Cannabeta

18th May 2019

CME specialist seminar:

“Epilessie genetiche:

verso una terapia di precisione”

NH Bologna De La Gare, Bologna

On May 18 at the NH Bologna De La Gare a specialized seminar on genetic epilepsies and precision medicine was held. The event, accredited as part of the National Programme for Continuous Medical Education, was also held under the patronage of Cannabeta. The discoveries of genetics in the field of epilepsy introduce the new era of precision medicine that aims to offer patients a personalized treatment, able to intervene on the specific genetic defect and sometimes on the specific causative mutation of their epilepsy.

In the field of precision medicine, the cannabinoid treatments discussed during the second session of the seminar are also included. In the paper “New therapeutic approaches for Lennox-Gastaut syndrome”, clinical research and clinical effectiveness of CBD in drug-resistant epilepsies were discussed.
